Do you see this as just a good Aquaman story, or what his status quo ought to be?

To me, it's Aquaman.

Can't say I was ever a fan but Sub Diego helped me get this character. He's caught between the two worlds of sea and land and no better example of this is his interaction with Batman.

No pun intended but when he comes across a problem he has no answers for he turns to Batman. It's humbling but shows you that even a king needs counsel.

Especially given the fact that this long is suddenly faced with unwanted new leadership duties and responsibilities with people raised within democracy.

It even gave him a contextualizing city much like Batman's Gotham. Atlantis is great but you can't see it. You can point it and compare it to anything that exists.

Aquaman, to me, is a character who should fold himself into whatever the situation calls for and Sub Diego is a great example of what of who Aquaman can be.
