I thot the Newsarama Grant Morrison exit interview was interesting (and had some new information)..but the rest were all kind of repetitive..Esp. since Newsarama kept on asking them the same questions ("What was it REALLY like working in a group?" Were there problems working together?)..Jeezus!! How many times can they freakin ASK them that!!

I had the exact opposite reaction. I thought it was amazing these four men could be asked the same questions and after a year of working together, were able to synch up their answers the way they did.

It was like watching a movie where the suspects get taken off to different rooms and knew each other well enough to keep the story consistent.

So what did Wizard pilfer?

The Green Arrow Cat-Arrow bit.

From me, The Greatest Black Canary page of all time bit.

Incidentally, though I haven't yet read the interview, it's been said that Animal Man is on loan to the DCU from Vertigo. Dan DiDio said that they had to trade Deadman to get Buddy for 52.

1. now that you say it, better as Black Adam... I'm not sure the Rock can pull off the niave disposition that Captain Whitebread might need from time-to-time. While we're casting: Green Arrow in Supermax: John C. McGinley.

3. Post 52, DCU continuity is all new, and yet, all the old stuff still fits in. Wrap your head around that.

13. Wouldn't you prefer an "all Lady" issue with Lady Cop and Lady Blackhawk?

I guess I've gotten a little more jaded from hearing all of the various podcast interviews and so forth since 52 started.

Rucka, Johns, Didio, Waid..etc. have all been saying the same thing over and over again in answer to the same question over and over again..every time they get asked that same question.

Morrison hasn't been interviewed as frequently owing to him being overseas...and he's not as attuned, I guess..

I think Grant meant he owns Animal Man now. I really do.

Oooh. Really, The Rock looks more like Black Adam, but I could see him pulling off Captain Marvel.

That is, if I didn't have my heart set on Brendan Fraser as The Big Red Cheese.

Hawkman has as much chance against Tony "Don't screw with me or I'll make a cyber thor!" Stark as Namor has against Dr. Strange.

Now Namor and Hawkman... There's a "wing size" joke in there some where.

Over the years, Hawkman has been fleshed out as the savage but courageous reincarnated Egyptian King with heart ...Tony Stark over the last few years has been made into a manipulative little douchebag.

Iron Man would get his ASS kicked.

Dwayne Johnson would make a pretty great Hawkman, come to think of it....

But I'd love to see him as Captain Marvel. Seeing him on talk shows and some of his movies, he comes off as a *very* charismatic, likeable "nice guy" sort.

This week we saw Iron Man get his a$$ handed to him by a guy that shoots white goo.

Hawkman swings a big mace.

Incidentally, though I haven't yet read the interview, it's been said that Animal Man is on loan to the DCU from Vertigo. Dan DiDio said that they had to trade Deadman to get Buddy for 52.

Which seems pretty weird to me, since they haven't had an Animal Man series in years and the most critically-acclaimed run on the title happened before it joined the Vertigo line.

That Grant Morrison interview was awesome, though. Half the fun of Grant Morrison projects is hearing him talk about it.

1. If Cap'n Marvel is the Jeff Smith/C.C. Beck version, where Cap and Billy are distinct people, then The Rock could be a killer Cap'n Marvel. If CM is the modern DCU "boy in a man's body" version, he'd be better suited to Black Adam. Regardless, boo-yah.

4. Not until they create a comic book version of me.

7. "The Writing on the Wall?" Very Book-of-Daniel. Very schweet.

20. Just don't name him "Matter-Eater Lad." In these fat-phobic times, it'd give him a complex.

Hmmm..."Kid Amazo Sanders"

If his/her name was just
"Amazo Sanders"

you'd have a prime candidate for their own pulp style comic book!

"Amazo Sanders: Man of Mystery Muscle!"

1. I've thought "The Rock" would make for either a damn good Hawkman or an AWESOME Black Adam since I saw him in The Mummy Returns. Patrick Warburton or Bruce Campbell would be awesome as Captain Marvel.

2. I'm guessing from Vertigo. Or is he implying that he's the one loaning him to DC?

4. Only if Zinda wore fishnet stockings. Until then, Black Canary and Zatanna are just a tad bit higher than her.

13. I'd buy anything with Infectious Lass in it. Especially if she faced off against Pestilence, the Horseman (I have a feeling her knowledge of alien viruses would trump Pestilence's powers).

14. Agreed. So far "Tales of the Sinestro Corps" is just as good, if not better than the main story.

16. & 17. Yes and YES!

18. Not really, my comic budget is stretched thin as it is, but given an unlimited budget, it would be on my pull list.

"14. We need more back-up features and less decompression.

15. Is it safe to read Nightwing again?"

Funny you put those two together. Nightwing has been good, but the last story arc was four issues that should have been wrapped up in one. Two at the very most.

1. Would Dwayne "The Rock" Johnson make a better Black Adam or Captain Marvel?

Black Adam.

2. According to Grant Morrison, Animal Man is only "on loan" to DC Comics?

From Vertigo? Makes sense. No reason your neighbor can't bother your hedge clippers until you need them back.

3. So are all of those previous Wildstorm/DC crossovers now in-continuity?

Well, yes, to the degree anything in the neo-past of New Earth is certain.

4. Could any other characters possibly be any more sexier than Lady Blackhawk or Blackhawk?

The Hawks. Hawkman and Hawkgirl have the Blackhawks over for 'couples night'. Things happen. Many things. Messy things.

5. Was it me but when Batman, I would add, wearing his '70's light blue cape, cowl, gloves & boots, smiled at Hawkgirl in issue 63, didn't it seem oddly comforting?

Smiling Batman can be one of the most comforting images in the DCU. It can also be one of the creepiest.

6. Where's Amethyst, Princess of Gemworld?

Waiting to get her own title that young girls might be interested in. And me.

7. Did you know that one of The Fourth World's greatest concepts, The Source Wall, wasn't created in the DC Universe proper? (Courtesy of Ben)

Well, the original one was just a cinderblock number on New Genesis that the Flaming Hand of Fabulousness used to write on; that was also called the Source Wall, I believe. But the whole "floating carbonite bas-relief" thingie is post-Kirby.

8. Weren't the 52: Exit Interviews on Newsarama extremely informative?

Yes. But I'm not sure I want to know how the sausage is made!

9. Wizard, could you please stop ripping off gags from The Absorbascon?

10. Was there ever a back-up story more suited to be a lead than Dr. 13's in Tales of The Unexpected?

And yet ... being an old-fashioned back-up story was part of its charm!

11. Black Manta is DC's version of sugar, isn't he? (Tales of The Unexpected #8)

Chocolate. Most things are better when you put Black Manta on them.

12. May we please have some more Team 13?

Or at least things LIKE Team 13, with collocations of abandoned characters in whom new interest can be aroused.

13. Wouldn't Infectious Lass and Lady Cop be the greatest issue of The Brave and The Bold ever?

Until the Vibe/ Golden Age Starman issue, yes.

14. We need more back-up features and less decompression.

AMEN, BROTHER.

15. Is it safe to read Nightwing again?

I am beginning to believe that "Nightwing" is a permanently damaged brand. Make him Red Robin.

16. Aren't you glad that we don't live in a time where Iron Man vs. Hawkman doesn't seem so one-sided anymore?

Seems pretty one-sided to me!

17. You know Hawkman would win, right?

Poor Ironman. Now, with a permanent IV, he can do nothing BUT drink.

18. Doesn't the ending to Countdown #51 only make you want to read The All-New Atom just that much more?

OH, yes! Much more than the three-issue Dead Boyfriend story that bored me to tears

19. Everyone flirts with The Black Queen except for Batman, huh? (Outsiders #47)

You mean ... David?

20. Shouldn't I name my firstborn "Kid Amazo?"

Kid Sanders.

You should name your kid 'Speed'. Think about it.

6. Where's Amethyst, Princess of Gemworld?

Amethyst is Gemworld now. Would love to see the series return though.

13. Wouldn't Infectious Lass and Lady Cop be the greatest issue of The Brave and The Bold ever?

I'm sure that the greatest issue of Brave & Bold has Batman in it. Batman and whom else is the real question. Maybe the Batman and Kamandi issue (Brave and Bold #120), the third Batman and Sgt. Rock team up (Brave & Bold #108), or the totally grand Batman & Batman from Brave & Bold #200.

Ah, who am I kidding; it's clearly Brave & Bold #111 Batman teams up with The Joker.

Funny you put those two together. Nightwing has been good, but the last story arc was four issues that should have been wrapped up in one. Two at the very most.

It is an odd arc in many ways. I sort of liked it, but after Nightwing being so badly messed up for so long by the tenures of Grayson and Jones, we really kinda need more stories about Nightwing! This arc was mostly about the villains, and they're pretty interesting characters, but not right for Nightwing, not right now.

Waiting to get her own title that young girls might be interested in. And me.

And me. My first blog post mentioned the absolutely delightful original Amethyst series, you know.

I want a new Amethyst series SO BAD.
